Trish and I are different from our older sisters. They are known for being organized, having good husbands, jobs, and goals. We’re known for being “flaky”—the artists —and our poor choice in first-husbands. Labels are hard to change in a family. They inherited our mother’s management skills, her ability to run a “tight ship.” We inherited our mother’s life-long battle with depression and anxiety. We wonder what happened to us.

My dad was in the marching band in High School. I’ve heard stories are about how much he loved playing his bugle. When he joined the Air Force during World War II, his dad sold it.

Growing up we lived a block from St. John’s Church. We wore our hats to church for everything—Baptisms, First Communions, Confirmations, Sunday Mass, High Holy Days, Holy Days of Obligation, Weekly Mass, and Daily Mass during Lent—good Catholic girls always covered their hair. Then came Vatican II everything changed. Priests turned around and spoke in English, and we no longer had to wear our hats

When I was growing up my family was divided in two; my three older sisters, and me and my younger brother, Stevie. All I wanted was to be with the big girls. Instead, I got stuck going on Cub Scout trips and to Mets games. He was a good sport though, willing to play Barbies with me as long as we used his GI Joe.

Outdoor Signage

Objective: Design brand identity implementation for outdoor installation

Concept: Bethel Woods Center for the Arts was built on the site of the original 1969 Woodstock Festival. The center wanted to pay homage to their legacy and honor the natural environment, but at the same time establish themselves as a world-class music venue. The logo was created large scale with a bronze metallic finish against natural stone to create a warm, inviting, and timeless presence.

Role: Art direction, project management
